How do I update my personal information?
Once you have set up a Backerkit account, you can change this information at any time during or after the campaign by logging into the account and click onto “manage account” in the pop-up menu behind your profile picture.
This will lead you to a page where you can edit your payment method, you mailing address and more.
You will also have a chance to do so in the pledge manager, to which we invite you after the campaign.

Are shipping costs included in my pledge?
No. Shipping costs fluctuate highly these days. In order to give you the best possible rate, we will ask you to pay for the shipping costs in the survey (Pledge Manager) towards the end of the year. Read more about the survey in the respective FAQ.

Do you ship physical rewards to my country?
Very probably. However: Due to logistical reasons, we do not deliver to countries where there is war or where there are other difficult conditions. This includes: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Syria, Palestine, as well as many countries in the Middle East or in Africa. It is highly unlikely, that someone living under dire circumstances would want to buy an RPG, but please contact us, if we are mistaken. We will check, if delivery is possible after all.

Should I pledge now or buy later in your shop or on DTRPG?
We strongly encourage you to pledge during the campaign rather than wait until the book hits our store. Here’s why:
Better value: All items are offered at significantly lower prices during the campaign. Early access: You’ll receive your rewards before they’re available anywhere else. Exclusive physical editions: After the campaign, only the main book will be available in print. All other add-ons—such as the street maps, battle maps, The Magical Renaissance Player’s Guide for 5e, and the Ars Magica Guide to Serenissima Obscura—will only be offered digitally. Limited stretch goals: Special extras like player handouts, unique characters, and the deluxe campaign box will only be unlocked and available to backers during the campaign.
Pledging now means getting more content, at a better price, in higher quality—and helping bring Serenissima Obscura to life in its fullest form.

Where is Serenissima Obscura produced?
We are a German publisher and Serenissima Obscura will be printed in Lithuania, EU. Our printer is STANDART IMPRESSA (www.standart.lt), who use an FSC-certificated press and FSC paper for this project. FSC certification is considered the “gold standard” designation for wood harvested from forests that are responsibly managed, socially beneficial, environmentally conscious, and economically viable.
Note for US American backers: Depending on the taxes imposed by the US American Government, we might have to print your items in the USA. Printing costs in the USA are much higher than in Lithuania. But when the shipping costs and taxes rise as anticipated, it might still be a viable option. This is something we will have to decide by January 2026.

I am a retailer. How to I complete my order?
At the end of the campaign we’ll contact you to customize your pledge level allowing you to add on more items if desired. We will then also ask you to send us some proof that you are actually a retailer, like a link to your shop or some business certification.

When will the pledge manager close?
The pledge manager is currently scheduled to close on March, 24. After the PM closes, your order will be locked, and your card will be charged (assuming you used the credit card payment method.)

When will I receive my digital rewards?
The digital rewards for Serenissima Obscura will be distributed as soon as all files have been sent to the printer. 1–2 stretch goals might take a bit longer, because they will be produced in early April. If you have ordered digital rewards connected to The Straight Way Lost, these are already waiting for you and will be distributed once your order is locked.

Where will you ship from?
We have decided to ship all packages from Germany, including those going to the USA. Bulk shipping to the United States has become so complex and expensive that it would significantly increase the final cost for everyone.

How much will the packages weigh, and how will the weight effect the shipping cost?
DHL offers package tiers up to 2, 5, 10, and 20 kilograms. This is how they relate to your order: Serenissima Obscura weighs approximately 1.7 kg (3.75 lb). If you ordered only the main book, your total package weight will be 2 kg. The D&D and Ars Magica pledge levels will ship in packages that fall into the 5 kg tier. Even if you ordered one copy of each print product, the 5 kg tier still applies. Some backers – including retailers – ordered multiple copies of the books. Depending on the combination, their packages may fall into the 10 kg tier. Retailers with more than five copies of the main book will exceed 10 kg. The exact prices vary per shipping region. Note 1: Although shipping prices have increased again in recent months, the shipping fee for Germany will remain the same as the estimate shown on the campaign page. Shipping costs within Europe (including the EU) have risen overall, so we unfortunately need to adjust those rates slightly. To avoid raising them too much, we will cover part of the difference from our own funds. Note 2: Shipping for retailers within the EU is free.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
